As my daughter and I were hanging out decorating her room with the decor she got for Christmas, we had a chat about how much her room has changed over the years. From Care Bears to Dora, Hannah Montana to her newly theme of Chevron + Mint. It was a bit sad thinking of how much older she is getting, before I know it she will be taking her stuff off to college! Its bittersweet! I scrapbook for my children so they will always have a piece of their childhood, but I thought it would be fun to do a Time Capsule that they can fill out themselves! This is a new tradition that we are starting this year. Simply print out the free printable here, have the kiddos fill it out or help them fill it out, seal it in a tin can and store it in your Christmas Decorations Box. Next year when you open up your decorations, store your Capsule under the tree until you open in on New Years Day!
What You Will Need
- Soup Can
- Time Capsule Questionnaire for each child
- Writing Utensils
- Memorabilia from the year
- Soup Can Label Printable
Don’t forget to store a few memories from the year! Its a good idea to have a second capsule for the next year in a safe place in your house that you can add to as the year goes on.
I also included some labels for your time capsule so you don’t wonder next year why you have a random soup can in your Christmas Decorations ;). Your Welcome. (Something I would totally do!)
Enjoy!
