I had a client bring me this bike wreath asking if I would repurpose it into a wreath for her door. She is a super active lady, so it makes sence that she would use a bike wheel as a wreath for her door! So I was thrilled to make something out of it!!
What you will need:
Burlap / Canvas Fabric
Letters (I used my Silhouette Vinyl Cutter and vinyl heat transfer)
Craft Aluminum or Pop Cans (cut the top and bottom off)
Buttons
Hot Glue
Twine or String
Burlap Ribbon to hang from the top
Flower Die Cuts
Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
Old Bike Wheel
When I began this project I was just going to purchase craft aluminum but we collect our pop cans and turn them in so I thought why not use up some of those! I simply cut the top and bottom off and there I had some tin! I had several super old flower die cuts, so I just used various ones to cut out the flowers. The nice thing about the Big Shot is you can cut paper, fabric, tin and various other media.
After I cut out several flowers, I simply rounded their petals to make them more dimensional and added buttons. I loved these spring color combos together!
After I got them all assembled, I hot glued them in fun arrangements along the bottom edge of the frame.
To make the banner, I simply cut triangles out of a canvas material and heat transfered letters from my Silhouette Cameo. You could also use stickers or paint letters on as well!
I happened to find a cute canvas banner in the scrapbooking section at Hobby Lobby but they werent big enough, so I hot glued them onto bigger ones I cut out. I still thought it was adorable!!
