I am so excited to be joining the “Wines of a Busy Mom” team
My name is Kim and I am a stay-at-home mom of five, yes FIVE kids! Hayden is the oldest at 8 years, then Elliot who just turned 5 in June, Oliver and LaRayne (Laney) came next and turned 3 this month, and the last of our brood in our little Kian who is 3 1/2 months & our bonus baby 😉 These little people occupy most of my life, but when I do have some time to myself I enjoy photography, writing, cooking, crafting, decorating and re-doing furniture. Ashley and I have SO much in common, that it just made sense for me to partner up with her on her blog. I have my own blog as well, Adventures in Bowersland, but it was put on the back burner when we moved a little over a year ago. I may start up on my personal blog again as well, only time will tell.
A little about myself, I was born and raised in a small town an hour west of Aberdeen, SD and have always enjoyed the quiet of small town living. My siblings (older brother and younger sister) and I are the product of high school sweet-heart parents who have been married for almost 38 years (in August) and I love my family dearly and fiercely! After I graduated from SDSU (Go JACKS!), where I met my husband and had our first child, we decided to move to a small town to raise our family. After living in town for 6 years our hearts really wanted some wide open spaces so we moved to our “new” house in the country. I use the word “new” lightly since our house was built in 1911 and has many of the features that if was built with. The things I love include stain glass windows, original wood work, beautiful high ceiling and a front porch intricate scrolled pillars…the bad is that there are so many bugs and everything needs to be updated, which takes time and money!! We love our new place though, even if it has been nothing but a money pit since we moved in 😉
Most of my posts will probably be about projects around the house, decorating, furniture re-dos, personal stories and food! I love food!! I love to cook food, smell food, serve food and tweak recipes to make them cleaner (less processed junk) and healthier…the only part of food I do not like is the clean up! When you make almost everything from scratch you tend to use lots of dishes, mix that with a family of seven and you get lots and LOTS of dishes!
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy my posts and please leave comments, I love to hear what you lovelies think or even if you have little tips and tricks of your own
Have a blessed day!
KIM
PS. I am going to apologize ahead of time for all the smiley faces and exclamation marks I use…They are my favorite ;)!!!
