I wouldn’t say I have a stinky house, but lets be honest… When you have babies… the smell of DIAPERS is almost impossible to avoid!! That and Cats, Dogs, you know, all that jazz! And the thing is, I just want to SMELL stuff when I walk in the door! I have a scentsy warmer in EVERY room, I am ALWAYS using scent vaccuum powders, and I just love SCENTS! But the deal is, sometimes, using all those chemicals is not good for you, your home or your children! We now use all natural soy wax and make our own wax melts, (you can buy those in our store, Creative Lush Boutique) and we now make our own Lavendar Satchets! These are SO SO Easy to make, and they last, FOREVER! The best part, you can pick and choose your fabric, to cutesy them up a bit!
What you will need
Dried Lavendar Petals (Lavender Flowers – 1/2 Pound …Ultra Blue….Culinary Grade)
Fabric of your Choice
Sewing Machine, Thread, ETC (I only had brown at home, the rest was at store, I would have chose white..)
Scissors
Instructions
1.The first thing you are going to do, is cut two square of fabric that are the same size of your choice. The most common is 3.5×3.5, but I actually cheated and I used the Square Scallop Edge Die Cut and the Big Shot (Stampin’ Up) to cut my squares!
2.Then, you will sew areound the outside of the square, probably about 1/2 an inch from the edge. Leave the fourth edge open to fill.
3.Using a spoon or funnel, stuff your satchet with Lavendar Flowers.
4.Sew the last edge of your satchet
They are THAT EASY. I cannot sew a straight line to save my life, but these probably took me and my husband (we worked as a team) less than 20 minutes to make. Now, you can put them under pillows, in linen closets, behind cat boxes, behind garbages, anywhere to soak up that odor!
