I think every time I post a project that is related to a holiday I say, I love this time of year. But the actual thing is, I love every time of year. Yes I prefer warmer weather (don’t we all) I still absolutey LOVE the holidays that take place in the cold! I actually made this for Easter, but ended up stamping the wrong sentiment and didn’t even notice until I downloaded the picture to my computer. But hey, concept is the same, right?
This is actually quite a bit smaller than it looks, but it is perfect for adding a little bit of a surprise for a friend (or mom, in this case)
You are going to start out with a piece of cardstock, (I used the pink in my My Reflections Brushed Paper Packet, X7190B). You are going to cut it to 8.5 x 6.5.
If you have your piece of paper portrait way, score it at .5, 2.5, and 4.5. Flip it horizontal and score it at .5, 2.5, 4.5 and 6.5. DONT FOLD on the score lines yet.
Now we are going to cut some things. I put it landscape way so the small fold is on the bottom. I only folded at the .5 to help me decide where to cut off my tabs. As you see, on the bottom, the tabs are cut up except for in the third square . You can see that I also cut the sides off for easy folding. Cut as shown in diagram below
Next, you are going to fold along the score lines. You can see now how the box will fold together. The bottom tabs are the bottom of the box, and you will just shape it into a cube and adhere the tabs.
Then, you will cut out three 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 squares to decorate the sides of the box.
I used the stamp set Holiday Tags. I meant to use Hopping By, they were both out not sure what made me choose the mothers day one 😉
Stamp your sentiment, cut it out, and adhere!
Add some Easter grass and some treats and there you go!
