Indian Fry Bread Recipe for Indian Tacos
We love trying foods from different cultures in our home and this is among our favorites. we love the delicacy of Indian Tacos when we visit carnivals and fairs, and love making it at home as well.

Ingredients
- For the Fry Bread
- 1 cup unbleached flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon powdered milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- For the Tacos
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Sour Cream
- Onions
- Cheddar Cheese
- Taco Sauce
- Other Taco Ingredients that you wish to include
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, powdered milk, and baking powder.
- Pour the water over the mixture and stir with a fork until it starts to clump up
- Place some flour on your hands to make dough easier to work with.
- Begin mixing the dough with your hands, working into a ball. (Don't knead)
- NOTE: THE INSIDE WILL BE STICKY, BUT THE FLOUR ON YOUR HANDS SHOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO WORK WITH
- Cut the dough into four pieces and shape into the form of a flat circle.
- Heat the vegetable oil to about 350 degrees F.
- When oil is heated, gently place it in your fryer. Gently press it down into the oil as so it cooks the top as well, or flip halfway through cooking.
- Fry each side around 3-4 minutes
- Place on towel to drain oil.
- Add your taco toppings and serve!
