Since I’ve moved to South Dakota there has been one really big perk! My father in laws cooking. He just knows how to do it right. He always makes this bean and ham soup that I just drool over…yes, it’s that good! Here’s my slight slight twist on it!
Best Ever Bean and Ham Soup
Ingredients
- -6 cups of water
- -4 carrots pealed and chopped
- -3 celery stocks pealed and chopped
- -1 onion chopped
- - 3 chicken bouillon cubes
- -2 bay leaves
- -2 tsp of dried thyme
- -1 large jar of great northern beans
- -2 cups chopped ham
Instructions
- Bring 6 cups of water to boil.
- Chop all veggies and add them to boiling water.
- Add in bouillon cubes, bay leaves, thyme, salt and pepper.
- Allow to boil for 20 minutes.
- Add in beans smashing 1/3 of jar and add chopped ham.
- Simmer on low for 20-30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
