Its so hard to believe that Christmas 2016 has come and gone and we are about to ring in a new year! I have so many reflections from this past year that I am still trying to sort through. I have loved and I have lost, I have persevered and I have taken steps back. Unlike any other year, my resolutions are completely different as I have started to think about what I want my life story to look like! Bring on 2017!
My husband and myself were talking about our past New Years celebrations. We have had celebrations in our home, attended other celebrations, but we have always had our kids with us. In our nearly ten years of marriage, we have never rung in the New Year without our kids! There is something to be said about spending New Years together as a family! There is nothing I cherish more than the games and activities, talking about what we learned over the last year and how we grew, together. We may try to sneak out this year as a couple, but it probably won’t be the same!
I always like to have a lot of activities prepared. Last year we did a WII tournament amongst the children & adults. Although this was fun, I failed to have activities prepared for the kids who were waiting their turns, thus the idea for a New Years Eve Activity Book!
Activities Included:
- New Years Word Search
- New Years Word Scramble
- New Years Trivia
- New Years Coloring Page
- New Years Tic Tac Toe
- New Years Crossword Puzzle
I didn’t make it “year specific” because I intend on adding activities to it each year so the activity book can grow and be used any year. Along with this Activity Book the kids will also get to make a New Years Time Capsule, and play fun reflection games. If I get a spare minute I will upload that game too!
I really enjoy making these activity books, but I think my kids have more fun using them! This is the second activity book I started, I did a camping one this summer. They are a bit more time consuming so my intention is to add a little bit to them each year. Maybe someday I can publish them! Until them, they will continue to be free! Its always fun to pair them up with some fun games too. This summer we had a lot of hands on going on with camping but in the winter we are stuck inside. Although I have designed a few of my own games, we have had a lot of fun with some of the newest ones that have come out this year! I just bought Speak Out and plan on breaking it out on New Years with the kids! We will definatly have plenty of things to do this year!
